MeiGah Apartments is an experimental government funded apartment building, designed to create an alternative solution for the dangerous subdivided flats and

the low land supply in Hong Kong. The design aims to provide affordable, sustainable, quality housing for the grassroot class; centering around the idea of micro-living, this project explores the relationship between living in a small space and a poor quality of life, and answers the question: “can we ensure the quality of life with a relatively limited space.

The design of MeiGah Apartments centers around community bonding and a quiet life style, creating a space where tenants can escape from the high octane and busy lifestyles of Hong Kong.

“Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services.”
