Epilogue
This site was designed and put together in January 2024 after the curriculum has ended in early 2023, due to the fast paced nature of the classes, the end product was a book that -  for all intents and purposes - can only be considered a loose bundle of letter sized paper held together with a wire binder that can come undone at any second. While at the moment I was extremely proud of the book, soon after I realized the issues and the haphazardness of the design, and with it came a level of frustration to see the lack of polish this book possessed - It simple did not do justice and fully encompass, the complexity, intricacies and details that are involved with this project.

What followed was a more refined, put-together book that was meant to be binded by hand, which was meant for memorabilia; as well as semi-succesful attempts at encapsulating this project in a more digestible form like my portfolio - all which felt either too long, or too short, failing to be an ideal representation of the Mei Gah housing project. Which leads us to this website.

This site is the 3rd edition of the Mei Gah housing project, with the main goal to fix up issues that are present with the 1st and 2nd edition, and to create a cohesive design and artistic experience, one that encompasses the aesthetic and spirit of this project, down to every single detail of this website, its size, type face, page layout, color choice etc.

A portion of the reaserch, development phases and final products ended up being ommited to create a more concise final product, and to reject redundant subjects that were done solely to satify the cirriculum’s requirement, the end product is what i consider to be the most refined edition of my senior project at SCAD.

Special thanks to the three professors that has lead the capstone class, Professor Robinson, Professor Purvis, and Professor Weatherspoon. To my mentor, Emily, you rock, thank you for all the infinite wisdom and random chit chats. To my good friend, Joanna, who has been there at every step of the project and whom this project would not be possible without. And finally to my parents, Sharona and Patrick, who has brought me into this earth, you’re the best.

This project is my love letter to my home, Hong Kong, filled with flaws, but home non the less.
Home sweet home, Hong Kong
